GENERAL LABOURER

Construction laborers perform a variety of duties at various construction sites/construction yards. The job of a general laborer varies in structure; therefore, the ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to multi task all while taking direction from various Supervisors/Site Foremen.  

Qualifications: 

  • Cleaning and sweeping a concrete slab and all areas

  • Laborers set up and take down ladders, scaffolding, and other temporary structures.

  • Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions, climb scaffolding, ladders and carry at least 50 pounds of weight

  • Personal protection equipment (PPE) must have steel toed boots, hard hat

  • Knowledge and the ability to comply to ALL WorkSafe (WCB) procedures/safety practices including on site work practices and guidelines

  • Familiarity with power tools including hand grinder, skill saws, pressure washer

  • Remove rubble and debris at the construction site and ensure proper disposal

  • Follow safety procedures and ensure site cleanliness. Provide any & all training certificates, tickets or safety levels (not a require for certificate/ticket but would be a great asset)

  • Must have means of reliable transportation to job sites. (Sites are usually located in close proximity to Skytrain Stations and Transit routes)

  • Must be willing to work overtime as required

TOWER CRANE OPERATOR

The Crane Operator is responsible for lifting, moving, positioning, and placing various equipment, materials, pre-fabricated forms, tables, and other large objects with the crane. In addition, the Crane Operator will assess and conduct daily machine safety inspections, routine crane maintenance as well as any specific crane manufacturer routine maintenance.

Qualifications: 

  • A Valid British Columbia Level A crane certificate is required (B Ticket considered)

  • Ability to independently conduct daily crane inspections

  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively operate a crane to lift, move, position and place equipment and materials

  • Perform routine and pre-operational crane maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating

  • Perform pre-operational inspections, and calculate the capacities and weight to prepare rigging and hoisting

  • Commercial &/or Infrastructure construction experience/formwork considered an asset

  • Ability to work extended hours including weekends

  • Capacity to remain calm and respond effectively using good judgement in a variety of situations

  • Must demonstrate safety awareness at ALL times

CARPENTERS HELPER

Directly assists and reports to the on-site Carpenter for the purposes of erecting/installing/building and dismantling all aspects of concrete form work within strict time restraints.

Qualifications: 

  • Assists and reports directly to the on-site Carpenter

  • Able to work safely and efficiently under minimal supervision &/or as part of a collaborative team

  • Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions, climb scaffolding, ladders and carry at least 50 pounds of weight

  • Must have personal protection equipment (PPE)

  • Must have fall protection gear and the appropriate ticket

  • Knowledge and the ability to comply to ALL WorkSafe (WCB) procedures/safety practices including on site work practices and guidelines

  • Ability to follow safety procedures and ensure site cleanliness

  • Must be willing to work overtime as required

  • Well-developed communication skills including both written and verbal

  • Must have means of reliable transportation to job sites (Sites are usually located in close proximity to Skytrain stations and transit routes)

  • Experience within the concrete forming industry particularly within Commercial high rise or institutional projects considered an asset

PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR

The main role is to liaison between the site management team and the General Contractor with focus on creating and maintaining project documentation, plans and reports. The Project Coordinator reports directly to the head office providing all administrative support as required.

Qualifications: 

  • Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information

  • Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives

  • Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management

  • Help prepare budgets; conduct inventory control; responsible for orders

  • Oversee project procurement management

  • Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise

  • Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants; attend weekly trade meetings

  • Work closely with the Project/Operations Manager and Superintendent(s)

  • Use tools to monitor working hours, plans and expenditures

  • Ensure standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance tests

  • Knowledge of Excel, Word and computer skills

  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management as well as a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate crews &/or sub-contractors

  • Minimum five (5) years of Commercial &/or Infrastructure construction experience/formwork

  • Knowledge and the ability to comply with ALL WorkSafe (WCB) procedures/safety practices including on site work practices and guidelines

  • Knowledge of Peri and Doka systems considered an asset

  • Must be willing to work overtime as required including weekends

  • Must have reliable transportation to all job sites

FORM WORK CARPENTER

Reports to and assists all on-site Superintendents/ Foremen for the purposes of erecting/installing/building and dismantling all aspects of concrete form work within strict time restraints.​

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 1 year Carpenter experience

  • Direct experience within the concrete forming industry particularly within Commercial high rise or institutional projects

  • Organizes, oversees and motivates a group of Carpenter Helpers/Laborers to perform all & any tasks at hand within tight deadlines

  • Work safely and efficiently under minimal supervision &/or a part of a collaborative team

  • Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions, climb scaffolding, ladders and carry at least 50 pounds of weight

  • Must have personal protection equipment (PPE)

  • Must have fall protection gear and the appropriate ticket

  • Knowledge and the ability to comply to ALL WorkSafe (WCB) procedures/safety practices including on site work practices and guidelines

  • Ability to follow safety procedures and ensure site cleanliness
